河南省民族宗教事务委员会职能信息
河南省民族宗教事务委员会是省政府组成部门，为正厅级，归口省委统一战线工作部领导。主要职责是：贯彻落实党中央关于民族、宗教工作方针政策和决策部署，负责全省民族宗教事务工作。
各级民族事务委员会、宗教事务局或民族宗教局是人民政府民族、宗教事务的管理机构。
1949年至1953年，河南省的民族事务由省民政厅管理。
1953年4月30日，河南省成立了省民族事务委员会筹备办事处。1954年，经中央人民政府政务院第221次会议批准，成立了河南省民族事务委员会，简称河南省民委。设主任委员1人，副主任委员4人，委员14人。机构内设办公室、一科和二科。1957年改设政法科、文教科、财经科；1958年设办公室、政法科和财经科。为加强对民族工作的领导，河南省部分专区和市也设立了民族事务管理机构。
1951年8月，经河南省人民委员会决定，成立了河南省人民委员会宗教事务处。
1960年9月，河南省民族事务委员会与河南省人民委员会宗教事务处合并，对外仍保留“河南省民族事务委员会”和“河南省人民委员会宗教事务处”名称。两块牌子，一套机构，行文统一用“河南省民族事务委员会”名称。
1965年8月，河南省人民委员会侨务处移并入河南省民族事务委员会，对外挂三块牌子。对内行文统一用“河南省民族事务委员会”。内设办公室、民族处、宗教处和侨务处。
1966年“文化大革命”开始后，成立河南省民族事务委员会革命领导小组，原机构不起作用。1967年底，省民委机构撤销，大部分工作人员下放到农村。
1973年3月，中共河南省委统战部恢复，内设民族处和宗教处负责全省的民族、宗教事务管理工作。
1979年3月，经中共河南省委批准，恢复省民族事务委员会，其时有行政干部4名，与省委统战部合署办公。该届省民族事务委员会委员35人，包括7个民族，分别来自10个地区、省辖市和省直13个单位，其中有行政干部、工程师、科教人员、教师、演员、民族宗教届上层人士。
1979年7月20日，河南省民族宗教事务委员会正式恢复，内设办公室、民族处、宗教处，编制27人。
1979年11月，河南省民族宗教事务委员会作为省人民政府的职能部门列入政府序列。在业务上接受国家民族事务委员会和国务院宗教事务局的指导。
1980年11月，河南省人民政府将河南省民族宗教事务委员会分为“河南省民族事务委员会”和“河南省人民政府宗教事务处”，形成一套机构，两块牌子。
1986年8月5日，河南省人民政府将“河南省人民政府宗教事务处”改为“河南省人民政府宗教事务局”，为正厅级单位。
2018年11月，设河南省民族宗教事务委员会，省政府组成部门，正厅级，在省委统战部统一领导下依法管理民族宗教事务。
