青岛西海岸新区是国务院批复的第九个国家级新区，位于青岛胶州湾西岸，是青岛三大主城区之一。新区以海洋经济为主题，享有省级管理权限，是青岛市经济、社会发展的龙头。

In 2021, the New Area registered a GDP of 436.853 billion yuan, up 10.3%; Its public fiscal budgetary revenue reached 28.33 billion yuan; ranking third among 19 state-level new areas in terms of comprehensive strength, only after Shanghai Pudong New Area and Tianjin Binhai New Area.
